Categorical Exemption
Type, Section or Code
California Code of Regulations, Title 14, Section 15311
Reasons for Exemption
The categorical exemption described in CEQA Guidelines Section 15301 applies to projects that consist of construction or placement of minor structures accessory to (appurtenant to) existing commercial, industrial, or institutional facilities, for which the State has determined to be a class of projects that will not have a significant effect on the environment. The project qualifies for this exemption because it involves the placement of a mobile food unit at an existing commercial facility. Additionally, none of the exceptions set forth in CEQA Guidelines Section 15300.2, which would preclude a project from using a categorical exemption, are applicable.
