Exempt Status
Categorical Exemption
Type, Section or Code
15303 (New Construction)
Reasons for Exemption
The City of San Diego determined that the project would qualify to be categorically exempt from CEQA pursuant to Section 15303 (New Construction). The exemption allows for the construction and location of limited numbers of new, small facilities or structures where only minor modifications are made. The project is located on a developed site but is adjacent to the City’s MHPA. The project is required to implement the Land Use Adjacency Guidelines (LUAGs) which would preclude offsite impacts to sensitive biological resources within the MHPA. The LUAGs would address the following; grading; brush management; drainage; noise; toxics and lighting along the boundaries of the project site and MHPA.
