Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement EPIMS Notification No. EPIMS-SBA-22716-R5, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to Southern California Edison as represented by Hazem Gabr. The Project involves the removal of a deteriorated wood pole and anchor. Prior to work, crews will trim poison oak around the base of pole and anchor to allow access of the structures scheduled for removal. Access to the site will occur using paved public roads and an established dirt foot path. Once crews reach the work site, they will stage within the 25-foot work area at the pole removal site and the anchor removal site. Crews will then excavate a hole around the pole and anchor using shovels. The pole will then be attached to the crane and cut so it is flush with the bottom of the hole. The pole will be lifted out of the stream and disposed of off-site. Crews will then cut the old anchor to ground using an electric hacksaw, and remove the old anchor from the stream. Once the pole and anchor have been removed the holes will be filled using soil from the excavation. Soil will be compacted and any dips caused by the work will be brought to or slightly above grade. Any excess materials will be removed from the site and disposed of at a facility licensed to accept waste materials. All temporary disturbed areas will be returned to pre-construction contours. A final sweep of the site will be done to ensure all construction materials are removed from the site.
