Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement EPIMS Notification No. EPIMS-MEN-35532-R1C, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to Lawrence Stornetta, representing Stornetta Brothers. The project is limited to one encroachment for the installation and removal of a seasonal bridge spanning the Garcia River. The bridge is fifty (50) feet long and shall be suspended no less than four (4) feet above the wetted channel. On the north bank, the bridge will be placed on a log abutment located on the gravel. On the south bank, the stream bank will be used as the abutment. Gravel may be moved using heavy equipment to construct the south bank abutment and either bridge approach. Gravel may be placed within the active channel, but outside the wetted channel to the extent necessary to ensure the bridge will fully span the channel. The bridge shall be installed on or after June 15 of each year, and removed on or before October 15 of each year.

The Stornetta Temporary Seasonal Bridge Project meets the criteria for categorical exemption type Class 4, California Code of Regulations, title 14, section 15304 because the project involves installation and use of a seasonal bridge at an existing crossing location. In-water operations are not permitted. No mature, scenic trees will be affected by this project. There would be no significant adverse impact on endangered, rare or threatened species or their habitat pursuant to section 15065. The project will not result in impacts that are significant when viewed in connection with the effects of past projects, the effects of other current projects, and the effects of probable future projects.
