Document Description
The Project is limited to the replacement of four recreational wooden puncheon-style trail bridges with new wooden bridges as described below. The replacement bridges will be constructed from redwood and the new footers will be precast concrete turf blocks. All work will occur above the ordinary high-water mark and top-of-bank, with no impacts to surface waters. No grading will be performed for construction access or staging. Carey Camp Trail Bridges: Two bridges will be replaced along the Carey Camp Trail where it crosses a narrow and steep-gradient ephemeral tributary to San Anselmo Creek. The existing bridges, 5 feet wide, and 16 feet and 20 feet in length respectively, will be dismantled and removed, and new wooden bridges will be installed. The new bridges will be 20 feet and 24 feet in length, respectively. The width of both bridges will remain at 5 feet. Wagon Wheel Trail Bridges: Two bridges will be replaced along the Wagon Wheel Trail where it crosses a narrow and steep-gradient ephemeral tributary to Cascade Creek The existing bridges, 4 feet wide, and 22 feet and 24 feet in length respectively, will be dismantled and removed, and new wooden bridges will be installed. The new bridges will be 22 feet and 30 feet in length, respectively. The width of both bridges will remain at 4 feet. The Project is not expected to result in temporary or permanent impacts to riparian vegetation and a tarp will be placed under all bridge work to catch any debris.
