The purpose of the project is to transfer owner ship of this segment of SR-39 to the City of Anaheim within their boundary. The need is that SR-39 is currently operating in similar manner to other city streets and no longer serving its original purpose as an interregional route. Transferring the ownership of SR-39 allows the City of Anaheim to streamline their development process in accordance with its Beach Boulevard Specific Plan. No construction is proposed.
