The City of Willits is proposing to update is General Plan Land Use Element and prepare a Sphere of Influence (SOI) Amendment to add developable land to the SOI. This project is intended to provide new housing opportunities inside and outside the existing city boundary, streamline the housing approval process, and accelerate housing development, as well as to bring the City Land Use Element, last updated in 1992, into compliance with changes in General Plan law.
