Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has amended Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement EPIMS Notification No. EPIMS-SBA-33837-R5, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to Southern California Edison.
The Project includes the proposal to replace a deteriorated wood pole and anchor (SCE Pole 2073806E) with a 50-foot-tall composite pole. The new pole will be set by helicopter directly adjacent of the existing pole. The anchor will be set approximately 7 feet northeast of the pole. The holes will be dug by hand and excavation depths will
range between 6 and 10 feet with a diameter of 2 to 3 feet for both the anchor and the pole. Construction equipment used to complete the Project may include various hand tools (shovel, pick, etc.), hydraulic jackhammer, and tree trimming tools (e.g., hand saw, clippers, and chainsaw). The temporary work area will include a 25-foot radius around the pole. The helicopter landing zone (HLZ) and staging area will occur within a large, cleared dirt turnout off of West Camino Cielo (Forest Route 5N12). The staging and loading will occur within a 100-foot diameter buffer where the work crew and materials will arrive in trucks and where helicopter loading and unloading
will occur.
