Document Description
The project proposes to replace the storm drain system and Santa Rosa St. and Foothill Blvd. in San Luis Obispo, CA.
The storm drain has exceeded its anticipated service life. Continued corrosion to the
corrugated steel pipe (CSP) will result in stormwater erosion to the surrounding backfill. The reinforced concrete-pipe (RCP) mainline has developed longitudinal cracks compromising the structural integrity on the pipe and must be replaced. A sewer line has broken through the RCP along Foothill Blvd and must be either avoided or relocated. Additionally, one manhole will be replaced, one manhole will be repaired, and, at the east edge of Caltrans’ R/W, one new manhole will be added. Although some nighttime construction is expected, avoidance and minimization measures mentioned below will be implemented.
