Document Description
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) proposes to immediately replace two storm drain pumps due to heavy rains which caused pump controls to fail. It was discovered the electrical pumps failed on State Route (SR) 99 at postmile (PM) 19.75 in San Joaquin County and on SR 120 at PM 6.2 in Stanislaus County. Due to the failed pumps, they are only operable manually and must be manned by electricians when weather is forecasted to rain. The scope of work includes to replace and install new pump controls for each pump station. All proposed work will be on Caltrans Right of Way. The purpose of this project is to replace the deficient electrical facilities serving the pumps. The project is needed to prevent or mitigate the loss or impairment of life, property or essential public services.
