Document Description
DWR staff will remove part of a Eucalyptus tree that has fallen on top of a DWR vault located northwest of Del Valle Reservoir within Sycamore Grove Park. Chain saws will be used to cut sections of the tree that are obstructing the vault. There will be no stump removal or ground disturbance. The cut sections and debris will be removed by hand and hauled off with a 1-ton work truck. The work area is approximately 500 square feet. Staging will be along the Arroyo Del Valle Regional Trail and access to the tree removal site will be on foot. All equipment and work will be within the DWR right of way.

The State Water Project provides significant and critical services to many Californians. This project is exempt because it involves routine maintenance activities. This project will not result in impacts to special status species or habitat. The Categorical Exemption Class 1 will be used for CEQA compliance as this activity will be implemented without any environmental impacts.
