Document Description
DWR will install 123 natural gas generators at the City of Lodi's existing Surface Water Treatment Facility for the purposes of meeting Assembly Bill (AB) 205 needs to expand power generation and energy storage facilities to respond to energy shortages due to extreme events (per PRC 25790.5). The new generators would be capable of producing up to 48 megawatts of electricity with operations not expected to exceed 300 hours annually. This additional power would be available for emergency use for 5 years.

This project will add temporary electricity to the grid to ensure a reliable supply during extreme events. The project is part of the emergency and temporary power generation component of the Electricity Supply Strategic Reliability Reserve Program established by AB 205. AB 205 established statute which exempts applicable projects from CEQA.
