Document Description
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) proposes to immediately mitigate flooding resulting from heavy rainfall that overwhelmed the local watershed, causing the rising water to cross State Route (SR) 99, at postmile (PM) 31.8 to 33.7, in San Joaquin County, flooding the highway and ultimately closing it to the traveling public in both directions. The scope of work includes pumping the flood water on SR-99 with 10” submersible pumps and discharge pipes. All proposed work will be on Caltrans Right of Way. The purpose of this project is to remove the flooded water and open SR-99 to traffic in both directions. The project is needed to prevent or mitigate the loss or impairment of life, property or essential public services.
