Document Description
The project is limited to the excavation of an approximately 23-foot wide by 10-foot-deep bell hole in order to inspect and repair a drip in a gas transmission line within the bed of the River Branch Canal. The drip is a ¾-inch pipe inside of the 4.5-inch pipe designed to collect liquids. Approximately 94 cubic yards of sediment will be removed from the canal and stockpiled at a 26,225 square foot staging area adjacent to the project site. Upon completion of the repair the excavation will be backfilled with
the stored sediment and the site restored to pre-existing conditions. Work will occur during dry conditions when no water in present in the River Branch Canal. No trees with a trunk diameter at breast height (DBH) in excess of four (4) inches will be removed during project activities. Construction equipment will include half ton pickup trucks, three-quarter ton pickup trucks, tool trailer, dump truck, flatbed equipment trailer, air compressor and sandblast pot, excavator, and water buffalo.
