Document Description
Pacific Power is planning maintenance activities on approximately 2.6 miles of their existing 2.4 kilovolt (kV) overhead distribution and transmission lines within the City of Castella in Shasta County and Dunsmuir in Siskiyou County. The project application description of work consists of reconductoring the line with a spacer cable system (i.e wires), updating system protection and other equipment as needed, the replacement of 14 wood pole structures with steel, removal of 1 wood pole, fire resistant structures, and replacement of guys and anchors. Structure construction and conductor stringing will include cutting and removal of existing structure within the Caltrans ROW. New fiberglass poles will be hoisted into place using a line truck. Anchors will be screwed or hammered into the ground, or potentially installed in a hand or machine dug hole up to 36 inches wide. Anchors will be installed up to 8 to 10 feet deep.
