Document Description
The project proposes to remove three large trees that fell on a park residence at Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park to allow for the selective demolition and removal of damaged materials and the reconstruction of the residence for park staff use. Work will: •Remove two (2) bay laurel and one (1) Douglas fir tree; •Demo and remove all damaged structures and finishes and assess extent of damage; •Construct, repair and/or replace as needed, framing for the roof, walls and/or windows; •Install shingles, gutters, and repaint the exterior; •Repair, as necessary, electrical and plumbing services; and •Repaint and replace interior finishes to match the existing design.

Project consists of the operation, maintenance, or minor alteration of existing public or private structures, facilities or topographical features, involving negligible or no expansion of use beyond current levels; replacement or reconstruction of existing structures and facilities where the new structure will be located on the same site as the structure replaced and will have substantially the same purpose and capacity as the structure replaced, included as “Utility repairs or minor upgrades” and “Reroofing” in the Department of Parks and Recreation’s list of exempt activities in accordance with CCR §15300.4; and minor public or private alterations in the condition of land or vegetation which do not involve removal of healthy, mature, scenic trees.
