Document Description
The Project consists of revisions to the previously approved Fire District Training Facility project with architectural and site plan changes to consolidate the uses and structures on-site, resulting in a more efficient land use pattern and an increase of the original approved structure floor areas by 5,217 sq. ft. The Project is located on an existing 3.26-acre parcel in a PS (Public and Semipublic) Zoning District. The Project continues to include the redevelopment of the subject property with demolition of an existing administration building and parking lot while maintaining an existing fire station on-site, and constructing a new safety training facility with a classroom building, training tower, and various training “prop” structures on-site.

Reasons for Exemption
The Project site is an urbanized area of less than 5 acres, to which all required utilities and public services are available. The Project site does not present unusual circumstances for a small urban site, and would not cause significant environmental impacts due to any unusual circumstance. Additionally, no habitat value for endangered, rare or threatened species has been identified at the Project site. Furthermore, the Fire District Training Facility Project revisions remain consistent with applicable General Plan and zoning regulations, and will not result in significant effects to traffic, noise, air quality, or water quality based on the technical studies provided.
