Document Description
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), using state funding, is proposing to restore and replace pavement markers that are currently in poor condition or missing. The project will replace pavement markers on Sis-5-51.2/69.3, and Sha-44-10.7/34.0. This is an HM4, 22/23 fully funded project which will restore delineation markers along the top of concrete median barriers and remove and replace recessed pavement markers in the roadway on Sis-5-51.2/69.3. Recessed pavement markers will also be replaced at a second location, Sha-44-10.7/34.0. There will be no bridge work or work involving pavement surfacing, guardrail, electrical, striping, utility relocations, permanent signs, or vegetation control. This project will be constructed in 2023 and will take approximately 20 working days.

The California Department of Transportation has determined the project to be categorically exempt in accordance with Section 15301 (Existing Facilities). Class 1 consists of the operation, repair, maintenance, permitting, leasing, licensing, or minor alteration of existing public or private structures, facilities, mechanical equipment, or topographical features, involving negligible or no expansion of existing or former use. Caltrans has determined that this project would have negligible or no expansion of existing or former use, and would have no significant effect on the environment.
