Document Description
Whale Rock Reservoir is operated by the City of San Luis Obispo on behalf of the Whale Rock Commission. The Whale Rock Dam spillway is an uncontrolled concrete lined chute located on the west abutment of the dam. The spillway is 850 feet long and terminates at a hydraulic jump type stilling basin which is used to dissipate energy from the spillway. The proposed Whale Rock Dam Spillway Underdrain Pipe Repair Project includes repair activities to the drainage system in ten locations including repair of offset joints, broken pipe, and collapsed outfall drains identified as part of a comprehensive Spillway Assessment.
