Document Description
The Alameda County Public Works Agency (PWA) plans to enhance an existing asphalt paved median located on Harmony Court in Unincorporated Hayward, Eden Township, Alameda County. The project would remove and recycle the existing asphalt and soil approximately 6-12 inches below grade; any excess asphalt and soil would be disposed properly. Clean imported landscape soil and mulch material would be placed in planting holes to plant new trees, shrubs and grasses that are drought tolerant within the median. A new irrigation system would be installed to irrigate these new plantings. Large boulders would be placed along the outer median boundary to prevent vehicles from parking adjacent to the newly landscaped median. The project and its construction activities would be within the road right-of-way and include traffic control measures and Best Management Practices to protect the environment. The purpose of the project is to strengthen community identity and increase community pride by visually enhancing the area.
