Document Description
Caltrans District 9 is proposing a project to replace 11 Roadside Weather Information Systems (RWIS) at various locations on State Routes (SR) 395 and 203 in Inyo and Mono Counties. The Transportation Management System (TMS) database indicates that the existing RWIS will be in poor condition by 2027. Each location has existing infrastructure including poles, cabinets, utility power and conduit. The RWIS sensors at each location will be removed and replaced along with conductors. All work will be contained within the existing infrastructure. No ground disturbance will be required at any of the project locations. All work will be performed within the existing Caltrans Right-of-Way with no new construction. RWIS systems that will be replaced are located at the following post mile locations: INY/395/R15.25, INY/395/R20.77, INY/395/R22.36, INY/395/R24.51, INY/395/R29.07, MNO/006/18.94, MNO/395/46.75, MNO/395/58.62, MNO/395/59.15, MNO/395/59.65, MNO/203/8.462.
