Document Description
The proposed project is located at the North side of State Route 168 in between Fowler Avenue and Armstrong Avenue in Fresno County. The purpose of this project is to meet federal noise guidelines and provide feasible noise abatement for traffic noise impacts generated by State Route 168 affecting nearby residential areas. Noise level readings were performed at a nearby residence that were 66 dBA (decibels A), which approaches the Noise Abatement Criteria (NAC) level of 67 dBA for residential land uses, causing the need for noise abatement. This Minor-A project proposes to construct a 10-foot sound wall extending for an approximate length of 1,100 feet within a Caltrans Maintenance Area of flat dirt with some vegetation. The project maintenance area is accessible through a chain link gate on Armstrong Avenue and is abutting residential properties to the north via an existing wooden or chain link fence. Temporary Construction Easements will be required.
