Document Description
The Application for Flood Maintenance Assistance Program and Levee Maintenance Project will make state funding available to Levee District No. 1 (LD1) for maintenance activities on or adjacent to regularly disturbed and/or maintained levees. Maintenance activities include general maintenance; vegetation management (e.g. burning or mowing, establishing firebreaks, slope drainage, and tree trimming; weed spraying; rodent control (e.g. bait stations, trapping, monitoring, minor damage repair, placing raptor perches or owl boxes); addressing issues associated with homelessness, trash, and vandalism; maintenance and placement of aggregate on preexisting levee roads; flood patrol; and installation of concrete blocks, gates, and fencing on existing roads. The project will benefit the general public by reducing flooding hazards.
