Document Description
The project is reconstructing six alleys located in the southwest area of Barstow and Clovis Avenues. The project shall include, but not be limited to, clearing and grubbing, removal of existing concrete and asphalt concrete materials, installation of concrete valley gutter, concrete drive approaches, asphalt concrete, and aggregate base material. Sewer manholes & water meter boxes shall also be adjusted to grade. Work will take place in existing right of way.

Reasons for Exemption
The California Code of Regulations includes guidelines for implementation of the California Environmental Quality Ad (CEQA). Article 19 of the Guidelines addresses Categorical Exemptions for certain types of projects. These guidelines contain a list of classes of projects which have been determined not to have a significant effect on the environment and which may be exempt from the provisions of CEQA. The proposed project is categorically exempt from CEQA under Section 15301 Existing Facilities. The project consists of the reconstructing of alleys which is exempt from CEQA per Section 15301.
