Document Description
The Tehama-Glenn Unit of CAL FIRE is proposing the replacement of a water line between the county water tank supply box and the water supply box on site at the Elk Creek CAL FIRE station. The fire station is located at 3288 County Road 308 Elk Creek CA. This fire station is approximately 1 mile southwest of the town of Elk Creek. The elevation is approximately 800 feet. The project is the replacement of an existing 2” galvanized water transmission line with a new 2” PVC water transmission line, from the source tank of the Community Service District (CSD) to the Elk Creek Fire Station. It is approximately 2,604 linear feet. The project area is along the edge of the road right of way for county Road 308 in Glenn County. There is a 150ft zone of influence on either side of the project area that could potentially be impacted by project activities. This work is necessary to replace an old and failing steel pipe with a new PVC pipe. The work will involve the use of a medium size backhoe, a front-end loader, and a wheel compactor and a water tender. The project duration estimate is 2 weeks.
