Document Description
This project consists of street improvements on Armstrong Avenue from Sierra Avenue to Tollhouse Road, approximately ±0.45mi. Construction shall include full street reconstruction, grinding, asphalt concrete paving, ADA concrete improvements, adjustment of existing manholes, water valves, utility boxes, and vaults to finish grade, installation of new traffic signal loop detectors, installation of traffic markings and signs to current MUTCD standards. All work will be completed in the existing right of way.

Reasons for Exemption
The California Code of Regulations includes guidelines for implementation of the California Environmental Quality Ad (CEQA). Article 19 of the Guidelines addresses Categorical Exemptions for certain types of projects. These guidelines contain a list of classes of projects which have been determined not to have a significant effect on the environment and which may be exempt from the provisions of CEQA. The proposed project is categorically exempt from CEQA under Section 15301 Existing Facilities. The project consists of installation of electrical signal components and light land alterations which is exempt from CEQA per Section 15301.
