Document Description
The project proposes to restore four (4) Diablo Stoves in Russian Gulch State Park to allow for the continued use and interpretation of these historic features. For each of the stoves proposed for restoration, work will:
-Clean and power wash to allow for a thorough inspection;
-Carefully dismantle, to the extent necessary, to allow for a full restoration;
-Use available schematics to manufacture replacement parts for the grills to original specification; and
-Use locally sourced materials and original design specifications to reconstruct the stoves.
The stoves’ existing conditions will be recorded by a State Parks Historian prior to the start of any work.
