The applicant GreenFire Energy, Inc. is proposing installation of a GreenFire Energy Steam Dominated GreenLoop (SDGL) system into an existing geothermal well. Calpine Corporation's Geysers Power Company LLC is the project's host and will provide a geothermal well at the Geysers Davies State 5206 #1 site on an existing well pad adjacent to their Bear Canyon Power Plant, for use during the proof-of-concept testing. The project duration is expected to be approximately three months. The project is partially funded by a California Energy Commission Grant (CEC) under the CEC's "Bringing Rapid Innovation Development to Green Energy" program. The grant recipient and developer of the "Steam Dominated GreenLoop" technology is GreenFire Energy, Inc.
