Document Description
The Project is limited to the repair of the support foundation of an existing building located on the bank of Redwood Creek. Eight 18-inch diameter piers will be installed approximately 10-feet into the ground to rest on bedrock below and secured in place with cement. A new concrete slab will be poured, raising the foundation two feet above its current elevation, and lifting it off the top of the stream bank. New retaining walls on the upslope south and east sides of the existing structure will be installed to prevent hillside collapse into the creek and reduce lateral pressure from the existing structure on the stream banks. The retaining walls and foundation will be integrated as one unified component. The existing walkway at the top of the stream bank on the north side of the existing structure will be decommissioned and replaced with a cantilevered walkway attached to the building foundation. All ground disturbance will occur within existing permanently impacted areas, therefore, the Project will not result in any new permanent or temporary impacts to the stream or riparian habitat.
