Document Description
Potholing to locate two potable water pipelines to record the GPS readings of the pipeline locations and depth. A rubber-tired backhoe with vacuum potholing trailer will be used to avoid impacts to native vegetation where possible. Potholing will result in no more than minimal individual impacts. Potholing depths are anticipated to be approximately 6 feet. An area for each air vacuum potholing will be a maximum 1 foot by 1 foot; therefore, it is anticipated that each potholing location will result in 6 cubic feet of the material temporarily excavated. The total amount of material that will be dredged during potholing is estimated at approximately 24 cubic feet. All material that will be excavated during the potholing will be placed back. Best Management Practices (BMPs) will be implemented to avoid and minimize project impacts to waters of the state, including BMPs for hazardous substances.
