Document Description
Frontier Communications is proposing to replace an existing fiber optic line in the State Route (SR) 36 right-of-way (ROW) in Tehama County between post mile 82.813 and 82.817. As part of the proposed work, bore pits would be excavated on either side of the highway (outside the ROW) to expose the ends of a 175-foot-long by 4-inch diameter protective casing that traverses the width of the highway. Using the bore pits, the existing fiber optic line would be removed and replaced with a new line. Once the new line is in place, the bore pits would be backfilled. As part of the proposed work, a new pedestal would be installed at the northern bore pit. The purpose of the project is to provide reliable utility services to Frontier Communications customers. Traffic control would be performed during the proposed work. Caltrans would issue an encroachment permit to allow for the proposed work to occur within State right-of-way.
