Document Description
Proposed excavation of the eastern portion of the basin and installation of a 60,000 gallon rainwater capture tank. The tank would receive rainwater from the house via gutters, and possibly eventually from the shop building and other structures on the property. The existing drain pipe from the house will be connected to the tank instead of draining into the basin. The tank will supply water to the existing orchard trees and garden space at the northeast corner of the property. There is no connection to the domestic water system. The western portion of the drainage basin will be retained as an overflow for the tank in case of a wet winter. Rainwater from the house currently drains through an underground pipe to a drainage basin. The basin was previously excavated in 1998 when the house was built. The nearest waterway is a Class III stream which is located approximately 386.5 feet west of the existing basin (The existing basin is strictly rainwater only with no surface water entering or existing the basin. Also, there is no onsite springs). A Cultural Resource Reconnaissance concluded no findings. A biological concluded no federal or state listed species are present.
