The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (“CDFW”) proposes to stabilize the northern embankment by relocating the Narcissus Drain, repair the lake’s outlet structure, provide erosion control measures at the outlet, replace conveyance pipelines if needed, and design and construct permanent repairs to a 600-foot-long segment of the north perimeter embankment (including the distressed portion).

Reasons for Exemption
The project is Class 2, 15302 (Replacement or Reconstruction) Exempt; the Project is a replacement or reconstruction of existing structures and facilities where the new structure will be located on the same site as the structure replaced and will have substantially the same purpose and capacity as the structure replaced. The Project is also Class 4, 15304 (Minor Alterations to Land) Exempt: the Project is a minor alteration to the condition of land, water, and vegetation on an existing officially designated wildlife management area (Wildlife Area) which will result in the Improvement of habitat for fish and wildlife resources and will not result in removal of mature, healthy, scenic trees.
