Document Description
The project proposes to reconfigure the intersection and construct a roundabout. The scope of the project includes constructing a one-lane roundabout, installing storm sewer pipe, pre-cast curb, street lights, sidewalk, curb and gutter, medians, signing and striping. These improvements are expected to improve safety and alleviate capacity problems currently experienced at the intersection.

Reasons for Exemption
The California Code of Regulations includes guidelines for implementation of the California Environmental Quality Ad (CEQA). Article 19 of the Guidelines addresses Categorical Exemptions for certain types of projects. These guidelines contain a list of classes of projects which have been determined not to have a significant effect on the environment and which may be exempt from the provisions of CEQA.
The proposed project is categorically exempt from CEQA under Section 15303 Existing Facilities and 15304 Minor Alterations to Land. The project consists of new construction which is exempt from CEQA per Section 15303/15304
