Document Description
Caltrans proposes to widen the northbound inside shoulders of State Route 1 to 5’ in width from post mile R5.0 to 8.2, widen the southbound inside shoulder of State Route 1 to 5’ in width from post mile R5.47 to R5.77, add additional paving to the median cut-through approaches at post mile R5.07, and adjust the drainage inlet to grade at post mile R5.07 along the southbound drainage ditch. Additionally, shoulder/edge-line rumble strips will be replaced along the newly widened shoulder. The purpose of these safety improvements is to reduce the number and severity of Run-Off-the-Road (ROR) collisions.
