Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement (EPIMS-TEH-40972-R1]), pursuant to Fish and Game Code section 1602, the project Applicant, Thomes Creek Rock, Inc. represented by Jeff Jackson. The project is limited to approximately 44,000 cubic yards of annual sand and gravel extraction from Thomes Creek (Project). Aggregate is to be removed from the gravel bars adjacent to the low-flow channel with bar skimming methods. Limited native vegetation may be removed during gravel extraction. Non-native, invasive vegetation will be removed during project-related activities. The aggregate will be removed with scrapers and stockpiled in upland areas to be processed at the adjacent Thomes Creek Rock processing plant. The operation will preserve a single low-flow channel through the site, and adjacent skimmed gravel bar surfaces will be graded to slope toward this channel. At the end of annual operations where extraction activities have disturbed the streambed, all depressions in the bars will be filled in and any mounds will be graded flat. The defining outer banks of Thomes Creek will not be disturbed.
