Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement Notification No. 1600-2020-0165-R5, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to Los Angeles Department of Water and Power. The project is limited to the trimming of vegetation and removal of sediment from an existing access road and flume structure. Vegetation along the access road will be trimmed using hand tools. The access road will be graded to even the road surface and fill eroded features. Vegetation surrounding the flume, forebay, and tailbay will be trimmed and removed to maintain access the structure in a 50-foot by 10-foot area. In the same 50-foot by 10-foot area, built-up sediment and debris will be removed using a mini excavator and dump truck. Invasive vegetation and any trash on site will be removed and properly disposed of off site. The project will temporarily impact 0.0405 acres of streambed from the removal of vegetation and sediment.

Class 1 addresses operation, maintenance, repair, or minor alteration of existing facilities or topographical features. Included in this exemption is the maintenance of existing public structures involving negligible or no expansion of existing or former use. The grading of the road will maintain an existing road and not expand use. The removal of vegetation and sediment will not expand use of the existing flume structure.
