Document Description
DWR Staff will conduct work to remove mudslide debris from roadways and unblock drainage in the vicinity of Lake Del Valle. The work area will be on paved surfaces and v-ditch drainage at slide locations along the roadways. Staff will use a skid steer and/or backhoe to load dump trucks of displaced soil. The trucks will haul the spoils to existing stockpile locations on DWR property. A water truck will be used to wash the roadway afterwards to clear away residual soil to ensure asphalt and roadway markings are exposed. All work is within DWR right of way.

Reasons for Exemption
The State Water Project provides significant and critical services to many Californians. This project is exempt because it involves routine maintenance activities to prevent damage to SWP facilities. This project will not result in impacts to special status species or habitat. The Categorical Exemption Class 1 will be used for CEQA compliance as this activity will be implemented without any environmental impacts.
