Reasons for Exemption
The California Code of Regulations includes guidelines for implementation of the California Environmental Quality Ad (CEQA). Article 19 of the Guidelines addresses Categorical Exemptions for certain types of projects. These guidelines contain a list of classes of projects which have been determined not to have a significant effect on the environment and which may be exempt from the provisions of CEQA. The proposed project is categorically exempt from CEQA under Section 15301 Existing Facilities and 15303 New Construction or Conversion of Small Structures. The project consists of rehab and new construction work which is exempt from CEQA per Section 15301/15303.
