Document Description
DWR staff will perform maintenance on the Del Valle Flood Control Outlet Works (FCOW) gates. A barge will be anchored into position above the entrance of the FCOW to place the bulkhead stoplog by divers. The tunnel will be dewatered at 250 cfs. A sandbag coffer dam in the spillway will catch construction debris. A storage rack structure for the bulkhead will be constructed on a concrete pad during the time it is in the stoplog slot. The project will utilize two staging areas. Approximately 1,500 tons of gravel will be placed on the existing gravel areas along the access roads. All work is within DWR right of way.

Reasons for Exemption
The State Water Project provides significant and critical services to many Californians. This project is exempt because it involves routine maintenance activities. This project will not result in impacts to special status species or habitat. The Categorical Exemption Class 1 will be used for CEQA compliance as this activity will be implemented without any environmental impacts.
