The Project includes replace an existing 18-inch Corrugated Metal Pipe culvert on SR 89 at PM 13.1. The culvert will be replaced with a 30-inch Reinforced Concrete Pipe/Rubber Gasket Joint. Additionally, the existing concrete headwall at the inlet will be replaced. The Project is limited to vegetation cutting, excavation of the slope, placement of fill on the slope, and concrete pouring

The Project falls under Class 2(c) Categorical Exemption because it consists of the replacement of existing facilities (one culvert) where the new structure will be located on the same site as the structure replaced and negligible expansion of capacity. The Project falls under Class 4(f) Categorical Exemption because it consists of minor trenching and backfilling where the surface is to be restored. The Project will involve the alteration of non-native vegetation, but will not remove healthy, mature, or scenic trees.
