Document Description
The Project is limited to the removal of approximately 455 cubic yards of accumulated sediment, and vegetative debris, from an approximately 1,586 linear-foot reach of the channel for flood control purposes. Sediment removed from the channel will be placed outside of top of bank, away from where it can deliver to the watercourse. Vegetation, primarily nonnative Himalayan blackberry (Rubus armeniacus) and giant reed (Arundo donax), within the channel and along the banks will be trimmed or removed to allow for access to the stream and to improve stream flow. Vegetation removal will be done with the use of hand tools, or a mower attached to a tractor operated\ from top of bank, and root structures of native vegetation will remain intact. Work will be conducted when the stream is dry. The Project will result in in temporary impacts to approximately 0.40 acres of stream and riparian habitat. No trees will be impacted by the project and the Project will not result in any permanent impact.
