Document Description
The San Gabriel Valley Water Company (SGVWC) proposed to construct an approximately 4,600-square-foot ion exchange (IX) treatment facility to remove per and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) from the raw water of three existing wells (Wells 2D, 2E, and 2F) at Plant No. 2. The IX treatment system includes four cartridge filters (three in operation, one standby), three treatment trains with two vessels operating in series in each train (lead-lag configuration). The IX system will have a capacity of 5,000 gallons per minute. The effluent from the IX vessels will then receive four-log virus inactivation treatment with sodium hypochlorite at the reservoirs.
