The California Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC), pursuant to authority granted under California Code of Regulations, Title 22, Division 4.5, Chapter 20, Section 66270.40, is issuing a Post-Closure Permit Renewal for the Tesoro Refining and Marketing Company, Los Angeles Refinery (Facility). The Facility has been under a Post-Closure Permit since 2011 for the post-closure care of two closed surface impoundments, Ponds 8 and 9. The term of this Permit is ten years from the date of issuance.

The permit renewal will not result in any physical changes to the Facility. The permit renewal will not result in any expansion of the existing use of the Facility and will not create any impacts upon the environment. No operational changes will occur as a result of this permit renewal. With certainty, there is no possibility that the activity in question may have a significant effect on the environment. This permit renewal consists of the operation, repairs, and maintenance of an existing structure with no expansion of use.
