Document Description
The proposed project would occur on two properties located at 1711 Harbor Avenue and 1515 West 17th Street. The proposed project would include the demolition of various existing buildings and associated equipment to construct an outdoor storage yard facility for the temporary storage of shipping containers en route to and from the Port of Long Beach. An existing building located on the southeast corner of the project site would remain and would be renovated with a 654-square foot addition to serve as an office building. Additional site improvements would include on-site parking for trucks, vehicles, and bicycles, zero emission charge stations for on-site trucks, plugins for refrigerated container charging, new drought-resistant landscape buffers, and fencing. City discretionary approvals for the proposed project include CEQA Clearance, Conditional Use Permits, Building Permit, and a Lot Merger. Additionally, a Street Improvement Permit from the Long Beach Public Works Department and a National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System Construction General Permit from the Los Angeles Regional Water Quality Control Board would be required.
