The volatile organic compound 1,2,3 - trichloropropane (TCP) has been detected in the Cressey Elementary Schools main source for portable water, in exceedance of the SWRCB DDW maximum contaminant level of 0.005 micrograms per liter. In order for the school to address this issue and be in compliance per SWRCB standards, the project will add GAC filtration units to the water system. The units are to be placed on a concrete slab and be housed in a shed. The construction of the shed is proposed to protect the units from damage and vandalism. The construction of the shed will not alter or change the environmentt. The shed and concrete slab are estimated to be 256 sq ft. The project will also include a new 5,000 gallon storage tank, backup generator, electrical system, and relocation of the existing pressure tank.

The construction of the small structure is covered under section 15303. The structure will be considered an accessory structure since it will be used to house equipment.
