Canedo Adobe and Padres Quarters Roof Repair
Document Type
NOE - Notice of Exemption
Document Description
The project consists of the in-kind repair of broken or rotted tile and structural roof components on the contiguous Cañedo Adobe and Padre’s Quarters. This includes matching rough-sawn redwood lumber for the Cañedo adobe portion of the project and hand-adzed pine or fir for the Padre’s Quarters. The project will also include the demolition of a small addition for a laundry room and toilet that was installed in 1948 during the Whittaker remodel. This demolition and removal was recommended in the most recent 1988 General Plan, as well as the 2013 DPR Interpretive Master Plan (IMP). Removing this room will return the architecture to a closer interpretation of its original 1786 configuration.
