Document Description
The Sierra Nevada Conservancy would provide funding for the Wildlife Heritage Foundation to conduct planning and due diligence activities for a potential future conservation easement to be placed on the 152-acre Lind Corridor property at the confluence of Indian and Montgomery Creeks. Located in Plumas County on Genesee Road, between the unincorporated communities of Taylorsville and Genesee, the project site is approximately 23 miles from Quincy, CA. The property links USFS lands to the west and east to support wildlife movement, safeguard water quality and water supply in the upper Feather River Watershed, sustain carbon sequestration, reduce wildfire risk, protect an area of significance to the Maidu people, and expand upon the lands protected by the Feather River Land Trust in the region. Specific actions include obtaining a property appraisal, title report, phase one environmental assessment report, and developing a forest evaluation and fuels management plan, a natural and cultural resources management plan including tribal participation, baseline report, and a draft conservation easement.
