Document Description
The proposed project requires an Encroachment Permit from the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) for the work to be performed on State Route (SR)-62 at Postmile (PM) 30.7/30.88 in San Bernardino County. This CE is for work within State right-of-way (ROW) only. The City of Twentynine Palms is proposing to install a raised median from Encelia Ave. to 510 feet East of Encelia Ave. on SR-62. The purpose is to promote traffic safety on this 500’ segment of the state route. The new median will eliminate left turn movements, to and from the adjacent shopping centers, on the north and south side of the highway. The width of the pavement removals vary from 10’ to 16’ wide. Placement of new concrete curbs are placed along edge of the travel lanes to create a raised median. The area between the curbs is then filled with stamped decorated concrete.
