Document Description
SJDF plans to add lights to the east side of the Buena Vista Pumping Plant parking lot. To do this staff will use an asphalt saw to cut and remove a 1 foot wide by 100-foot-long section of asphalt. Then, in the area where asphalt was removed, they will use a hydro excavation truck to excavate a 2-foot-deep trench. They will also excavate a 1 foot wide by 80-foot-long area in an existing flower bed. Using the hydro excavation truck, they will a dig 2 feet deep trench in that area. After excavation is complete, electricians will run conduits within the trenches. Afterwards, a dump truck will be used to bring in road base to fill the trenches. A backhoe, water truck, and Wacker packer will be used to compact the area. Lastly, new asphalt will be placed in the areas where it was removed. Existing soil will also be used to backfill the trenches in the flower bed. All work will take place within DWR’s right of way. This work is necessary to provide light to staff, so they may safely get to and from work, and be available to run the plant at all hours of the day.
